Moral Shifts:

  1. Animals, will sound like eating babies
  2. Social Media / Privacy Morality
  3. Attractiveness Discrimination
    1. Heightism
  4. Cosmetic Surgery being acceptable - people should look the way they want to look
  5. People born attracted to children who don’t act on their impulses are heroes, should be lionized
  6. Software rights (Intelligent / Emotional / Conscious software)
  7. Plant Rights
  8. Genetic Improvement as morally compulsory
  9. Cloning becoming acceptable
  10. Anti-Tribalism
  11. Expansion of the tribe to be all-inclusive
  12. Allowing bad or abusive parents to raise children
  13. Capitalism / consumerism as evil (even relative to embracing scarcity)
  14. Uncreative work at scale
  15. Right to attention
  16. Right to time
  17. Wage Slavery

Two interesting questions here:

  • What are the genuinely likely changes? What features predict moral shifts?
  • Which changes are generalizations of my own moral views that currently feel invalidated?

Thought: Ask this question as a getting to know somebody step… much like anitvalues, it elicits core beliefs that distinguish them from the society, and so are important to their identity.
