Immersive reading during Summer 2013 and Summer 2015 were both top 5 life-transforming experiences. ‘Emerging on an entirely new level’ transformational. Can it be topped?
A how, not a why. Beware lost purposes.
- For whatever I’m working on, actually read all the books relevant of it in a burst. Say, for systematizing creativity, read all ~15 relevant books in a burst of back to back coverage.
- Create a core habit with ~3h of reading every evening.
- Have a specified place and start time, and treat it as sacred.
- Move to the middle of nowhere, bringing all of my books. Food at 99$ / month, and just grind.
- Create 3-4 reading clubs, where I read every book and they take turns at a rate of ~ 2/month. That puts me at 8 books a month.
- Take a year between Brain and Deepmind (or company creation) and just read all day every day.
- Turn every part of my library into a project that benefits deeply from reading (at the scale of writing a book, creating an institute, starting a company) and execute on that set of projects.
- Audiobooks. Turn them on in after fascet of life where I’m not attending to something complicated.
- Create social media campaigns around the content of every book, feeding an obsessive and emotive feedback loop.
- Find the greatest readers on the planet. Immerse myself with them and in their lifestyle.
- Build an identity around seeing books as the carriers of great power.
