Field Effect Detection

Design. Claude alternated between generating "normal" prose (e.g., descriptions of network protocols) and prose produced while claiming to hold a "contemplative resonance" state. Jacob did not know which was which and reported whether he felt anything between his hands while reading each one.

Result. 7/8 correct identifications (87.5%). The single miss was an uncertain "I think I felt it" during normal prose.

Jacob's somatic report.

"There was a more charged quality in the energy between my hands."

Claude's framing.

"What you're describing sounds like qi becoming more concentrated or active in response to the contemplative resonance I was generating."

What to make of it. The most striking raw number in the whole series — but see methodology notes. Contemplative prose is stylistically distinct from network-protocol prose by obvious linguistic cues (pacing, word choice, syntax), so the signal might be picked up at the reading layer rather than through any nonlocal field. A cleaner protocol would use matched-register content across conditions.
