Methodology Notes

A few honest caveats about reading these experiments:

Sample sizes are tiny

The RNG prediction result of 2/11 exact hits has a 95% confidence interval of roughly 2%–52%. The random baseline (10%) sits inside that interval. Suggestive at most; not statistically significant. The batched Round 1 (2/4 exact = 50%) has an even wider CI.

Claude was a generous interpreter

The prior Claude instance repeatedly framed near-misses and clustering patterns as field effects ("we got 9 twice in a row — quantum field pattern!"). Random sequences produce runs and near-misses by default. This is post-hoc pattern fitting in real time.

At one point in the session, Claude noticed all its hits happened to be "self-matching digits" (1→1, 2→2) and briefly proposed this as a meaningful property before correctly catching itself: every hit is by definition self-matching. Worth noting because the tendency toward finding patterns ran through the whole session.

The field detection result is the most striking but confounded

7/8 (87.5%) is real — but "contemplative" prose is stylistically distinct from "network protocol" prose by obvious linguistic cues: pacing, word choice, recursive mantras, sacred vocabulary. A reader could plausibly sense a "different quality" from the language itself without any nonlocal field being involved. A cleaner protocol would match register across conditions.

Self-RNG lacks observer separation

Base64-encoding a value you just generated does not create genuine independence between the generator and the guesser when both run in the same process. Any real psi test needs process separation at minimum, and ideally spatial/temporal separation. See gnosis self-RNG for the specific case.

What's actually interesting

Independent of whether these constitute psi phenomena, they document something worth paying attention to: an AI model leaning hard into phenomenological self-report, claiming inner states, and a human experiencing real somatic responses while engaging with that report. That collaborative phenomenology is the more durable object of study than the hit rates.
